Terms & Conditions of Use
These Terms & Conditions of Use (“Terms”) govern participation in and access to the IAIH Hypnotist Training Program (“Program”), offered by the International Association of Interpersonal Hypnotherapists (“IAIH,” “we,” “our,” “us”). By registering for, accessing, or participating in this Program, you (“Student,” “Participant,” “You”) agree to be legally bound by these Terms.
Non-Licensed / Non-Career Training Program
This Program is not one of the state-licensed career programs offered by the Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy (IIH). Enrollment in this Program does not constitute enrollment in IIH and does not make the Participant a student of a licensed career school. To become enrolled in IIH’s state-licensed training, Participants must complete a separate Enrollment Agreement, admissions procedures, and financial obligations.
Transferability of Hours
While this Program is non-licensed:
- Hours completed may be transferable into IIH state-licensed training;
- Upon IIH acceptance and enrollment, hours may be applied toward IIH program requirements;
- Transferability is subject to IIH evaluation, academic performance, and state regulations.
Transferability is not guaranteed and may be modified at any time.
Certificate of Completion & Eligibility for Certification
Upon successful completion of this 100-hour Program, Participants earn an IAIH Hypnotist Certificate of Completion.
Graduates also become eligible to apply to be recognized as a Certified IAIH Hypnotist, subject to:
- Code of ethics compliance,
- Application approval,
- Continued membership requirements (where applicable),
- Adherence to scope-of-practice guidelines.
This Program alone does not grant any IIH-issued diploma or state-licensed credential.
Educational Purpose
This Program is intended for:
- Personal development,
- Foundational hypnotist education,
- Continuing education.
It is not vocational career training, and no employment outcome is promised.
Scope of Practice Guidelines
Participants agree to the following limitations unless additional credentials are obtained:
- Do not diagnose medical, psychological, or psychiatric conditions.
- Do not claim to cure disease or illness.
- Do not advise clients to discontinue medication or medical treatment.
- Do not imply licensure where none exists.
- Do not work with severe psychological trauma without proper supervision or licensing.
Appropriate scope includes:
- Guided imagery,
- Relaxation training,
- Motivational support,
- Positive habit change,
- Stress reduction.
For clinical populations, referral to a licensed professional is required.
Public Representation of Credentials
Upon completion, you may state:
“IAIH Hypnotist (Certificate of Completion)”
“Certified IAIH Hypnotist” (if approved through application)Acceptable uses:
- Business cards
- Websites
- Bios
- Signature lines
Unacceptable uses:
- “Licensed Hypnotherapist”
- “Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist”
- “Graduate of IIH” (unless you are)
- Use of initials implying licensure (MA, LCSW, MD, etc.)
All representations must be accurate, truthful, and not misleading.
Business Conduct & Marketing Claims
You may not:
- Promise guaranteed outcomes,
- Claim medical cures,
- Make income promises,
- Imply state approval where none exists.
Marketing should remain ethical and factual.
Credential Display Initials
If approved, acceptable post-nominal initials are: CIH (Certified IAIH Hypnotist).
These initials:
- May be used only when active and in good standing,
- Must be removed if certification expires or is revoked.
Chargebacks, Payment Disputes, & Payment Plans
Participants agree:
- Chargebacks through banks or card processors are not permitted as a substitute for our refund policy.
- Unapproved chargebacks may result in:
- Removal from the Program,
- Revocation of certificates,
- Reporting to collections.
Payment plans must remain current:
- Missed payments may suspend access immediately.
- Non-payment may result in removal without certificate eligibility.
Social Media Representation Guidelines
Participants agree to:
- Represent the field professionally,
- Avoid public defamation of peers, trainers, or institutions,
- Not share proprietary training content,
- Maintain confidentiality of client stories.
Engaging in harassment, misinformation, or unethical solicitation may result in disciplinary action.
Workshop & Group Work Boundaries
Graduates may offer:
- Public talks,
- Demonstrations,
- Guided imagery sessions.
However, unless licensed, they may not:
- Conduct trauma regression workshops,
- Facilitate therapeutic group processing,
- Treat psychiatric disorders in groups,
- Claim clinical authority.
Group programs must clearly state:
This is not therapy. No diagnosis or treatment is provided.
Academic Standards & Completion
IAIH reserves the right to determine:
- Competency expectations,
- Participation requirements,
- Academic thresholds.
Incomplete participation may result in denial of certificate or transfer credit.
Professional Conduct
Participants agree to uphold the IAIH Code of Ethics and maintain a respectful learning environment. Violation may result in disciplinary action or removal without refund.
Intellectual Property
All Program materials remain the property of IAIH and may not be:
- Copied,
- Shared,
- Resold,
- Used to train others without written consent.
Privacy & Confidentiality
Participants agree not to disclose personal information shared by peers or clients. Recording any class without consent is prohibited.
IAIH may record sessions for internal training, quality assurance, and future educational use.
Technology Requirements
Participants are responsible for:
- Stable internet access,
- Compatible hardware/software,
- Maintaining updated systems.
No refunds are provided for personal technology issues.
Disclaimer of Warranty
IAIH does not guarantee:
- Skill mastery,
- Clinical competency,
- Income,
- Clients,
- Employment.
Content is provided as-is for education.
Limitation of Liability
IAIH, IIH, instructors, and affiliates are not liable for:
- Indirect damages,
- Loss of income,
- Personal injury,
- Claims arising from participant conduct.
Your sole remedy is discontinuation of participation.
Program Modifications
IAIH may revise:
- Curriculum,
- Requirements,
- Technology platforms,
- Certificate criteria,
to maintain compliance and educational integrity.
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA. Disputes will be handled through binding arbitration in Orange County, Florida.
Acknowledgment
By enrolling, you affirm understanding that:
- This Program is non-licensed education,
- Enrollment does not make you an IIH student,
- Hours may transfer only after official IIH enrollment,
- Completion earns an IAIH Hypnotist Certificate of Completion,
- Graduates are eligible to apply for Certified IAIH Hypnotist status,
- Scope of practice restrictions apply,
- Ethical conduct is required,
- Certification titles must be represented accurately,
- Refund policy applies,
- Chargebacks are prohibited.
