With great power comes great responsibility—and hypnosis is no exception. The ability to influence the subconscious mind must always be paired with ethical clarity and compassionate intention. That’s why at IIH, ethics isn’t just a module—it’s the foundation of everything we teach.
Ethical hypnotherapy means honoring client autonomy, setting clear boundaries, and never using suggestion to manipulate or impose. It means being trauma-informed, culturally aware, and spiritually sensitive.
In Interpersonal Hypnotherapy, ethics also includes the practitioner’s inner integrity. Are we showing up authentically? Are we grounded in our own healing work? Are we using this modality to empower rather than control?
Clients often come to us in vulnerable states. When we meet them with honesty, skill, and heart, we create the conditions for real transformation—and we uphold the dignity of the healing arts.
