IIH Mentoring Program

A student and graduate support system designed to help IIH students feel connected, encouraged, and professionally supported throughout their training.

The IIH Mentoring Program pairs current students with a hypno-buddy, as well as qualified IIH graduates and/or senior staff mentors. Together, these layers of support help students build confidence, stay engaged, and feel supported as they move through the training.

The program supports student retention, confidence, community, and professional development while maintaining clear boundaries around who may teach, supervise, advise on curriculum, or prepare students for exams.

The program includes two tiers of mentorship—Peer Mentors and Senior/Paid Mentors—complemented by the hypno-buddy partnership, which supports practice, connection, and shared learning throughout the training experience.

Mentorship Structure

The IIH Mentoring Program is designed with clearly defined roles to ensure students receive the right type of support at the right time.

Peer Mentors

Graduate volunteers providing connection, encouragement, and student support

Peer Mentors are IIH graduates in good standing who serve as volunteer mentors. Their role is to help students feel supported, connected, and encouraged as they move through the training experience.

They provide a space for students to share, reflect, and stay engaged, while modeling professionalism and care as IIH graduates.

Peer Mentors may:

  • Check in with students periodically
  • Offer encouragement and emotional support
  • Share their experience as IIH graduates
  • Help students feel connected to the IIH community
  • Support confidence and motivation
  • Guide students toward the appropriate resources when needed

Peer Mentors may not:

  • Teach curriculum
  • Prepare students for exams
  • Present themselves as instructors
  • Supervise or evaluate student work
  • Provide clinical, academic, legal, or ethical guidance
  • Answer questions that belong to instructors, supervisors, examiners, or Student Services

SENIOR / PAID MENTORS

Qualified IIH professionals providing advanced educational and clinical guidance

Senior Mentors are paid mentors ($75/hour) and are selected from qualified IIH personnel, such as supervisors, instructors, examiners, or other approved senior staff with strong knowledge of the curriculum.

This role exists to provide deeper, more advanced support in areas that require professional experience, curriculum familiarity, and institutional authority.

Senior Mentors may:

  • Answer hypnotherapy-related questions
  • Help students understand the curriculum
  • Support exam preparation
  • Help students prepare for client sessions
  • Provide guidance related to practicum and professional development
  • Offer advanced mentorship and, where appropriate, discounted private sessions
  • Support students in building confidence as emerging practitioners

Hypno-Buddy Partnership

Peer-to-peer practice and shared learning

All IIH students are paired with a hypno-buddy as part of their training experience. This partnership allows students to practice together, build meaningful connections, and support each other throughout their learning journey.

The hypno-buddy relationship is focused on practice, reflection, and shared growth—not instruction or evaluation.

Senior / Paid Mentors

Senior Mentors are qualified IIH professionals, including supervisors, instructors, and examiners, who provide advanced educational, clinical, and curriculum-related guidance.

Dani Fox

Dani brings over 25 years of experience in training, coaching, and transformational work, supporting students in developing confidence and clarity as they grow into their role as practitioners. Her approach is grounded, intuitive, and focused on helping students integrate their learning in a meaningful and practical way.

She supports students in strengthening their understanding of key concepts, refining their communication and client skills, and building a strong foundation for professional practice. Her mentorship emphasizes consistency, self-trust, and the ability to translate knowledge into real-world application.

Rebecca Zayas

Certified Clinical, Interpersonal & Transpersonal Hypnotherapist

Rebecca brings a strong foundation in clinical practice combined with a supportive and grounded approach to mentorship. She helps students build confidence, deepen their understanding, and feel more at ease as they apply their skills in real-world settings.

Her mentorship focuses on strengthening both technical ability and presence, supporting students in developing clarity, professionalism, and consistency as they grow into their role as practitioners.

Bianca brings a structured yet human-centered approach to mentorship, grounded in both her academic background and professional experience. She supports students in refining their skills, gaining confidence, and navigating real client work with clarity and integrity.

Her approach focuses on helping students translate theory into practice, while maintaining a strong sense of professionalism and self-trust as they grow into their role as practitioners.

David Crisp

Certified Hypnotherapist (IIH Graduate)

David is a graduate of the Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy and founder of NVŌK. With a background in leadership, business management, and law enforcement, he brings a grounded and real-world perspective to supporting students throughout their training.

As a Peer Mentor, he offers encouragement, connection, and shared experience, helping students stay engaged, build confidence, and feel supported as they navigate their learning journey.

Wendy Woodburn

Certified Clinical & Transpersonal Hypnotherapist (IIH Graduate)

Wendy is a graduate of the Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy and is currently building her own hypnotherapy practice while remaining closely connected to the IIH community. Her journey through the program sparked a deep passion for the transformative potential of this work.

With a background in teaching and business management, she brings a structured and supportive approach to mentoring. She helps students simplify complex ideas, reduce overwhelm, and stay engaged throughout their training.

Mentors operate within clearly defined roles. Students should contact instructors, supervisors, examiners, or Student Services for official academic, clinical, or administrative guidance.

Amanda Palmer

Co-Director of IIH Mentoring Program

Amanda Palmer is a graduate of the Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy and certified Clinical and Transpersonal Hypnotherapist.

With a background that blends a degree in Nutrition, years of leadership and event coordination, she brings a grounded, heart-centered foundation to her work.

Amanda was guided to hypnotherapy through her own spiritual and healing journey, where she witnessed firsthand the profound transformations that occur when the subconscious mind is given a safe space to heal. Inspired by both personal experience and the changes she has seen in others, she is passionate about supporting clients through meaningful inner work, creating an environment rooted in compassion, presence, and empowerment.

Torii Crudup

Co-Director of IIH Mentoring Program

As the Co-director of the IIH Mentorship Program, she is passionate about spreading the love for Hypnotherapy, the school, and her divinely guided journey that brought her here. She is deeply committed to the program’s vision of creating healed healers and fostering a compassionate, supportive, and friendly learning environment, playing a vital role in ensuring student success by providing practical guidance and one-on-one support to the next generation of hypnotherapists.

Torii is also a Certified Clinical & Transpersonal Hypnotherapist. Her dedication to the art of hypnotherapy is reflected in the safe, non-judgmental, and welcoming space she naturally provides for profound personal transformation.  

Professionally, Torii’s extensive background in Customer Experience, Quality Assurance, and Reputation Management involved significant experience coaching and mentoring professionals. This leadership experience directly enhances her ability to provide practical, high-quality guidance in her role here at the IIH; while also helping uphold high ethical and professional standards within the therapeutic practice.
